Status Audit and Gap AnalysisEvery successful intervention should commence with
an evaluation of current status. It is therefore suggested that prior to
proceeding with the development of a formal Management System, detailed
information pertaining to the existing business processes and organisational
procedures (formal or informal) is acquired.
The method used to obtain this information takes the
form of a process assessment and system audit. At least one member of the
clients’ management is typically included as part of the audit/assessment team.
This ‘health check’ is used as input to a detailed
project plan and position report which indicates the overall status of the
client’s management system.
Important aspects such as identification of key
business processes and their definition, areas for improvement relating to
business process, human resource or hardware all assist in the subsequent
development of the formal system
